What Agora Means
It means ”a gathering place”, the name inspired by Ancient Greece, the Agora was the space in every city where the entire community would meet, socialize, exchange ideas and have their third space. We aim to give you a sense of community wherever you may be!

Why We Do It
Our Story
1 in 4 men and 1 in 7 women don’t have a close friend — and it’s only getting worse.
We live through screens. Dating apps leave us second-guessing ourselves. Social media shows us the fun everyone else seems to be having — but not where to go or how to find it.
We crave connection. We crave belonging.
A place to feel seen. A place to feel at home.
For our founder Sahil, that realization hit unexpectedly.
Someone asked him, “Who’s your closest friend?”
And he went blank.
After moving from the US to London, Sahil felt alone in a city full of people. So he started talking — to over 1,000 others — and began hosting events to understand what really brings people together.
That’s how Agora was born.
Agora isn’t just an app. It’s a community.
And more than that — it’s a platform built to bring people together through the joy of saying yes to real, in-person memories.
Our mission is simple: to give people a sense of belonging, create genuine friendships, and make it easier to find your people — in the most human way possible.
